LAUNCH PROCEDURE

HOW TO LAUNCH A NUKE IN FALLOUT 76

This Fallout 76 nuke launch guide explains the basic launch process in a quick terminal format. You need access to a missile silo, a Nuclear Keycard, the current weekly launch code, and enough firepower to survive the automated defenses.

Before entering the final launch room, check FO76Silo for the current Site Alpha, Site Bravo, and Site Charlie codes.

REQUIREMENT 01 KEYCARD

Bring at least one Nuclear Keycard. Bring extra cards if this is your first launch.

REQUIREMENT 02 SILO ACCESS

You need access to Site Alpha, Site Bravo, or Site Charlie.

REQUIREMENT 03 LAUNCH CODE

Use the current weekly code for the silo you are launching from.

LAUNCH STEPS

01

Finish the Enclave path

To launch nukes normally, progress through the Enclave questline until you reach the missile launch objective. The major mission tied to this process is I Am Become Death.

02

Get a Nuclear Keycard

A Nuclear Keycard is required before launching. Keycards can be obtained from the cargobot/keycard objective or from other in-game sources when available.

Bring more than one Nuclear Keycard if possible. If you enter the wrong launch code, you can waste the card.
03

Check the weekly silo code

Each silo uses a different weekly code. Check whether you are launching from Site Alpha, Site Bravo, or Site Charlie, then use the matching code.

Current codes are available on the FO76Silo terminal: fo76silo.com.

04

Enter a missile silo

Choose Site Alpha, Site Bravo, or Site Charlie. Once inside, fight through robots, security systems, and silo objectives.

05

Complete launch prep

Work through the silo tasks until you reach the command room. Start launch prep, defend the launch crew robots, and wait for the prep sequence to complete.

06

Insert keycard and enter code

In the launch room, insert your Nuclear Keycard and enter the correct weekly code for that silo.

07

Select a target and launch

Use the targeting terminal to select where the nuke will land. Confirm the launch, exit the silo, and prepare for the event or farming zone you created.

INSIDE THE SILO

Missile silos are combat-heavy. Expect robots, turrets, locked doors, damaged systems, and objective steps before the final launch room.

  • Bring ammo, stimpaks, repair kits, and armor condition to spare.
  • Robots and turrets are the main threat, so energy resistance and anti-robot damage help.
  • Hack and lockpick perks can make some sections easier, but are not always required.
  • Power Armor or a durable full-health build makes first launches easier.
  • Bloodied builds can work, but mistakes inside the silo can be expensive.

BEST NUKE TARGETS

Where you aim the nuke depends on what you want to farm or trigger.

TARGET TYPE SCORCHED EARTH

Nuke Fissure Site Prime to trigger the Scorchbeast Queen event.

TARGET TYPE FLUX FARM

Nuke areas with useful flora if you are farming stable flux materials.

TARGET TYPE EVENT FARM

Coordinate with your server if you want players to join the event quickly.

QUICK TIPS

  • Check the correct silo code before entering the final launch room.
  • Use the Missile Silo State Holotape if you have it to check silo cooldowns.
  • Do not waste your Nuclear Keycard on the wrong Alpha, Bravo, or Charlie code.
  • Bring a team if it is your first silo run.
  • Clear inventory weight before going in so you can loot comfortably.
  • Fast travel out quickly after launch if you want to join the event zone.

FAQ

Do I need a Nuclear Keycard every time?

Yes. A Nuclear Keycard is consumed during the launch process. Bring spares if you are unsure about the code or if it is your first time.

Are Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie codes the same?

No. Each silo can have its own weekly code. Always use the code that matches the silo you are launching from.

When do nuke codes reset?

Codes reset on a weekly cycle. FO76Silo shows the active code cycle and countdown on the main terminal.

What happens if I enter the wrong code?

You can waste the Nuclear Keycard. Check the current weekly code before submitting it.

Can I launch a nuke solo?

Yes. A strong solo build can clear a silo, but teams make first launches easier.
